ABOUT US

Rotherham BMX Club have been running since 2002, promoting the sport of Bicycle Motocross racing. We are run as a non-profit organisation who's aim is to develop, organise and promote BMX racing in the Rotherham Borough and surrounding areas.

We currently operate from the Rotherham BMX Track at Little Common Lane, Kimberworth. The track is free to the public, and open for use at all times except during club events. Beginners are encouraged to come along to one of our organised events, where we can provide limited club bikes and safety gear, together with expert guidance to get you started. We are affiliated to British Cycling who are the governing body for racing in the UK and form part of the Midlands BMX Region.

The club regularly host local and Regional races at our home track and many of our members also represent the club at National and International level. There is usually a large contingent of Rotherham riders at most of the big races and we also organise fund-raising and social events throughout the year. We hold regular coaching sessions during the school holidays, and one night a week during the summer months.

Club Sessions:

Easter - September Every Tuesday 5.30pm-8.00pm

(Weather Permitting)

We currently have a membership of over 70 riders, a committee of 4 to manage the club and an army of parents, supporters and volunteers who help to keep the club successful.

We have successfully ran free BMX coaching sessions during the school holidays for the last two years and also purchased BMX Bikes and safety gear thanks to funding from the following groups, Local Children's Network Fund, Voluntary Action Rotherham, Community Foundation, National Lottery Fund, Rotherham Young Peoples Services, Co op & Rotherham Education Culture & leisure.
